Rebuilding Sri Lanka: Lab No. 3 Opens at Dammaloka Maha Vidyalaya, Chilaw

Technocity Group has extended its commitment to education once again, setting up a complete computer laboratory at Dammaloka Maha Vidyalaya in Chilaw. It is the third laboratory delivered under the Rebuilding Sri Lanka initiative, and another concrete step toward closing the digital divide for rural students.

The investment for this single laboratory stands at LKR 2.5 million, a substantial contribution that equips students at Dammaloka Maha Vidyalaya with the modern tools they need to thrive in a technology-driven world. The goal behind bringing high-quality hardware to Chilaw is a simple one: geography should never limit a child's potential.

That goal carries particular weight this year. Sri Lanka is still recovering from Cyclone Ditwah, which struck the country in late November 2025 and caused widespread flooding and damage across every district, including the North Western Province. Against that backdrop, restoring and upgrading school ICT infrastructure isn't just a nice-to-have. It's a critical part of the country's long-term recovery, giving students a place to rebuild momentum in their education even as their communities rebuild around them.

A properly equipped computer lab does more than provide access to hardware. It lays the foundation for students to build essential skills, from basic computing all the way through to advanced coding and AI, skills that will shape how the next generation of Sri Lankan students learns, works, and competes.

This marks the third laboratory in the Rebuilding Sri Lanka initiative, following the labs already delivered at Zahira College, Puttalam, and Thambarawila Maha Vidyalaya, Chilaw. Each one adds another school, and another community, to a growing network of digitally empowered classrooms across the country.
